P4.6-M marijuana destroyed in Ilocos Sur

SAN FERNANDO CITY, La Union – Police and the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency seized and destroyed 10,900 fully-grown marijuana plants and 20,000 grams of dried marijuana stalks valued at P4.6 million in Barangay Licungan, Sugpon, Ilocos Sur on Tuesday, February 27.

LAWMEN destroy marijuana worth P4.68 million in Barangay Licungan, Sugpon, Ilocos Sur on Tuesday, February 27. 

PDEA-Region 1 (Ilocos) Director Joel B. Plaza said these marijuana plants were uprooted from three plantations with an aggregate land area of 1,800-square meters. 

These were burned on site and  samples were brought to the PDEA-Region 1 headquarters here for documentation and proper disposition.

Days earlier on February 21, the PDEA and police destroyed marijuana plants worth P2.18 million in a 2,600-square meter lot in Sitio Sawangan, Barangay Danak, Sugpon.
