The Lady Bulldogs proved they remain as top contenders after picking up their second win for 2-1 record in the standings following a horrible opening-season defeat against the University of Santo Tomas Golden Tigresses.
Bella Belen, who put on her old MVP hat in NU’s five-set drubbing of the Ateneo Blue Eagles last week with a season-high 21 points that went with 24 digs and 10 receptions, delivered another huge performance with 15 points off all attacks made including the clincher that sealed the victory.
Alyssa Solomon unloaded an all-around performance of 17 points built on 14 kills, two blocks and a service ace while Vange Alinsug had 12 markers of her own as the reliable trio all caught fire at the same time.
The Lady Bulldogs set the tone of the match with a 2-0 set lead, but had to recover from a 9-4 deficit in the early goings of the third set.
By the time Adamson found its rhythm in its third-set fightback, NU regained consciousness and pulled away midway through the match and never looked back the rest of the way.
Sadly for the Lady Falcons, who were initially looking to taste their first victory against the Lady Bulldogs since 2019, dropped to 1-2 slate in the standings.
Adamson couldn’t carry over its impressive momentum off its straight-set victory over the University of the Philippines Fighting Maroons last week.
Mayang Nique and AA Adolfo paced Adamson with nine points apiece in the losing cause.
