MPD investigates death of inmate in Ermita police precinct

Manila police are investigating the death of an inmate inside the detention cell of Ermita Police Station (PS-5) on Tuesday night, February 27. 

The Manila Police District Homicide Section did not disclose the name of the inmate who was arrested on February 19 for violation of the Anti-Child Abuse Law. 

MPD Homicide Chief Dennis Turla said that the man was immediately brought to the hospital at around 6:48 p.m. on Tuesday after complaining of a headache and stomach pain. 

However, he said that at around 9:29 p.m., the man was declared dead. 

Turla said that they are now waiting for the result of the autopsy conducted on the vicitim's body.
