After being two sets down, the Blue Eagles steadily regained momentum in the crucial third set to eventually seize control the rest of the way.
Meanwhile, Steph Bustrillo paced UP with a team-high 17 points on the losing end.
The Fighting Maroons, who were hoping to taste their first victory over the Blue Eagles, slid further to a 14-game losing skid owing 11 of which from their one-win campaign last season.
