A father and his son were arrested by members of the Pasay Police Investigation and Detective Management Section (IDMS) following a robbery incident in a condominium unit of a Malaysian man on Feb. 27.

Pasay City police chief Col. Mario Mayames identified the suspects as alias Luis, 53, and George,75, a barangay kagawad, both residents of Sta. Ana, Manila.

Police identified the victim as Tang Yit San,30, a Malaysian, billeted at a condominium on Macapagal Boulevard in Pasay City.

Mayames said suspect Luis, who worked as a driver and bodyguard of the victim, reported to the police a robbery-holdup incident that occurred inside the Malaysian's condominium unit on Feb. 26 at around 1:30 p.m.

Luis told police that the robbers took San's sling bag containing P50,000, an iPhone 12 Promax, and other belongings including the cash of victim’s friend amounting to P33 million cash.

During investigation, however, police probers discovered the exchange of text messages between the father and son discussing their plan to rob the victim, prompting them to arrest the suspects.

The father and son were charged with robbery and are now detained at the police custodial facility.
