The quality of local goods have nowhere to go but up, thanks to the enactment of the new“Tatak Pinoy (Proudly Filipino)” or Republic Act (RA) No.11981.
Thus, said Camarines Sur 2nd district Rep. LRay Villafuerte, a staunch supporter of President Marcos' legislative agenda in Congress.
Villafuerte said RA No.11981 espouses the Tatak Pinoy or “Proudly Pinoy” Strategy (TPS), which seeks to systematically and incrementally expand and diversify the productive capacities of local enterprises to produce sophisticated goods and services that can best compete in the global market.
The Bicolano is an author of the newly-signed law.
Villafuerte said that RA No.11981 shall set up the Tatak Pinoy Council as implementer of the proposed TPS on improving the quality and quantity of Philippine exports.
“The TPS envisions a Philippines with a great many Filipino enterprises offering assorted products, goods and services that are highly competitive in the global market,” Villafuerte said.
“And to achieve this strategy, this new law aims to forge a close working partnership between the government and private sector on improving and expanding the capabilities of local entrepreneurs to produce and export world-class goods and services," added the National Unity Party (NUP) president and former deputy speaker.
Villafuerte had either authored or co-authored 14 of the 49 laws signed by President Marcos since he assumed office in June 2022.
