Manila Police District (MPD) Brigadier Gen. Chief Arnold Thomas Ibay inspected Manila Bay or "Dolomite Beach" on Monday, February 26.
Ibay talked to the designated guards in the area to check the situation.
According to security guards, several beachgoers have attempted to swim at the sea.
The director reminded the public that Manila Bay is heavily polluted and is not suitable for water activities.
He said the seawater still contains chemicals that could cause several diseases.
Security guards said the Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR) has been continuously monitoring the quality of the seawater.
Ibay also said that plastic bottles are not allowed to be brought to the beach to avoid littering.
Beachgoers were advised to put their beverages in tumblers.
