The Las Piñas City Health Office (CHO), in collaboration with the Sangguniang Kabataan (SK), organized a fun run on Saturday, Feb. 24, to foster a healthier community especially among the youth.

Mayor Imelda Aguilar said the fun run, which was hosted by the CHO under the supervision of Dr. Julie Gonzalez, which carried the theme “Takbo Para sa 4K (Kalusugan ng Katawan at Kaisipan para sa Kabataan” was attended by 200 participants.

Aguilar said  the "Takbo Para sa 4K" event underscored the city government’s commitment to holistic health for its younger residents by focusing on both physical health and mental well-being.

She said the initiative highlighted the importance of a balanced approach to youth development which is part of a broader strategy by the local government and health office to integrate health and wellness into the daily lives of its citizens, particularly the younger generation.

The mayor also said the fun run serves as a reminder of the power of community and the significant role that physical activity plays in maintaining mental and physical health.

Aguilar added that it was also one of the proactive steps taken by the local government units in prioritizing the well-being of their younger constituents.

She said that through such initiatives, the city hopes to inspire more adolescents to lead active, healthy lifestyles, thereby fostering a healthier community for all.
