The Philippine National Police's (PNP) neutralization of the Concepcion Criminal Group in Bicol is a monumental win, said Ako Bicol Party-list Rep. Zaldy Co.

With this, Co, chairman of the House Committee on Appropriations, gave a P10-million reward to the police operatives who put an end to the gang's reign of terror in the region.

"The dismantling of the Concepcion Criminal Group signifies a monumental win for the PNP and the broader quest for peace and order in the entire country," Co said.

“Malaking bagay po ang pagka-neutralize ng Concepcion Gang. Matagal na po naming pino-problema ‘yan, and I promised to give P10 million out of my own pocket for the capture of this criminal and terrorist group,” Co said.

(The neutralization of the Concepcion Gang is a big deal. They have been our problem for a long time.)

No less than House Speaker Martin Romualdez witnessed the handover of the reward from Co to the PNP on Monday, Feb. 26.

Last Jan. 24 in Barangay San Martin De Porres, Parañaque City, police operatives killed gang leader Gilbert Saysay Concepcion, also known as “Bert” or “Pogi".

The Concepcion Criminal Group has been engaged in various criminal activities, including assassinations, extortion, and illegal arms trade.

Co said the break-up of the organized crime group by the PNP underscores the competence, perseverance, and courage of the involved police personnel.

“Ang pagkapaslang kay Gilbert Concepcion, leader ng notorious na Concepcion Criminal Group, ay nagpapakita ng kakayahan ng ating mga pulis sa pagsawata sa organized crime networks at sa pagprotekta sa ating mga mamamayan.”

(The killing of Gilbert Concepcion, the leader of the notorious Concepcion Criminal Group, shows the capability of our cops in neutralizing organized crime networks and protecting the citizenry.)

"Our police officers' bravery and sacrifices, who confront dangers to protect us, are deeply appreciated," Co added.
