The Manila Disaster Risk Reduction Management Office (Manila DRRMO) said that the victim, who was identified as Joey Jimenez, 48, was stabbed along Romualdez Street, United Nations Avenue in Manila on Monday night, Feb. 26.

In a media interview, Barangay Councilor July Villanueva of Barangay 674, Paco, Manila said that the couple was having a drink when they started arguing.

“Naungkat yung mga kuwentuhan nila dati… alam mo naman pagdating sa alak, so doon nagka-pikunan po (They talked about what happened in their past... you know what can happen when it comes to alcohol, so that's where their argument started from),” Lawton Police Community Precinct (PCP) Station Commander Capt. Anthony Abundo said.

When the two were about to sleep, he said that the woman suddenly took hold of a scissor and stabbed the victim.

The victim ran away and asked for assistance from the patrolling personnel of the Tactical Motorcycle Riding Unit (TMRU).

The Manila DRRMO said the victim sustained laceration on his right inguinal area. He was immediately brought to the hospital for treatment.

According to the authorities, the suspect got mad when she and the victim started talking about their previous relationships.

The victim will not file a case against his live-in partner.

“Ayaw na magsampa ng kaso nung biktima sa ating suspek kasi mahal na mahal niya nga po ‘yung kanyang ka-live in (The victim doesn't want to file a case against the suspect because he really loves his live-in partner),”
