The Flying Titans recovered from a tight fourth set by dictating the pace in the pivotal fifth frame and then overcame the Angels’ furious late rally to post their second straight win.
Hard-hitting Sisi Rondina exploded anew for Choco Mucho by firing all her 24 points on attacks, while Kat Tolentino delivered an all-around game of 13 kills and four blocks to finish with 17 points.
Already at matchpoint, 14-9, the Flying Titans briefly lost their composure following a service error that allowed the Angels to regain momentum.
Three straight attacks from Aiza Pontillas, Remy Palma and Jonah Sabete trimmed Petro Gazz’s gap, 14-13, before an expensive service error from Marian Buitre that sailed straight to the net gave Choco Mucho the victory.
Three other players scored in double figures for the Flying Titans with Isa Molde chipping in 12 points, and Maddie Madayag and Cherry Nunag contributing 11 points apiece.
Choco Mucho’s victory overshadowed the efforts of Sabete for Petro Gazz, who unloaded 29 points built on 26 kills and three blocks.
Brooke Van Sickle and Pontillas also pumped in 18 and 15 points in a losing cause for the Angels, who slipped to 1-1.
