The clarification came following a slew of Facebook posts warning Caviteños about a rumored group of jail detainees who allegedly escaped in Bacoor and are targeting residents for holdup robbery and motorcycle theft.
In a statement released on Tuesday, Feb. 27, the Bacoor CCPS clarified that there is no basis for such rumors.
“Following a thorough investigation, the Bacoor PNP has diligently coordinated with all relevant jail facilities, and it has been conclusively verified that there is no truth to the rumors. We wish to emphasize that the safety and security of our community remain our utmost priority,” the statement wrote.

In a separate statement, the Cavite PPO called the posts “fake news.”
“We assure you that your safety remains our top priority, and we are working tirelessly to keep our communities secure. However, spreading false information only breeds unnecessary fear and panic among our residents,” the statement posted on Cavite PPO’s official Facebook page said.
“We urge everyone to be vigilant and discerning when consuming news online. Verify the sources before sharing, and refrain from perpetuating unfounded rumors that undermine the peace and stability of our beloved province.”
