Brace for warmer days in the coming months, PAGASA warns
More areas in Luzon may see "warmer than usual” temperatures in the coming months due to El Niño, said the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) on Tuesday, Feb. 27.

PAGASA-Climatology and Agrometeorology Division (CAD) Officer-in-Charge Ana Liza Solis presented the forecast ranges of extreme temperatures, including the maximum and minimum ranges, at a climate forum on Tuesday.
Maximum temperatures in March-April-May range from 28.9°C to 40.7°C in northern Luzon, 28.5°C to 39.7°C in lowlands Luzon, 26.5°C to 29°C in mountainous Luzon, 34.5°C to 38.3°C in Metro Manila, 30.5°C to 37.5°C in lowlands Visayas, 31.1°C to 38.8°C in lowlands Mindanao, and 33°C to 36.2°C in mountainous Mindanao.
Meanwhile, during the March-April-May period, minimum air temperatures will range from 14.5°C to 25°C in northern Luzon, 17°C to 27.7°C in lowlands Luzon, 12.1°C to 16.2°C in mountainous Luzon, 20.1°C to 26°C in Metro Manila, 20°C to 25.8°C in lowlands Visayas, 18.3°C to 25.2°C in lowlands Mindanao, and 14°C to 19.3°C in mountainous Mindanao.
"Mas marami sa parte ng Luzon area na mas mainit iyong temperatura kaysa karaniwan (More Luzon areas will have warmer temperatures than usual)," Solis said.
Solis noted that these records were just maximum ranges of temperature and not the heat index.
The heat index is the measurement of how hot it feels when relative humidity is factored in with the actual air temperature.
