Vehicle transporting Pangasinan village officials catches fire

BOLINAO, Pangasinan – A vehicle transporting officials of Barangay Guesang, Mangaldan, Pangasinan to an orientation here caught fire in this town on Monday, February 26.

Barangay Guesang Kagawad Abdul dela Cruz told Mangaldan Councilor Aldrin Soriano that their rented vehicle was parked while they were looking for a cellphone loading station when it suddenly caught fire.

The fire damaged their money, documents, clothes, and the car seat. No barangay official was injured in the fire.

The barangay officials are here to attend the Barangay Newly-Elected Officials Basic Orientation from Monday, February 26, to Wednesday, February 28.

Municipal Local Government Operations Officer Marilyn Laguipo said officials from 30 barangays in Mangaldan are attending the activity, a requirement of the Department of the Interior and Local Government for new barangay officials.
