Partners from government, private groups, and volunteers from the Philippine Science High School joined MORE Power employees and its third-party contractors during a tree-planting activity in Barangay Buhang, Jaro District.
“The trees planted are our gift to the future generations. I would like to remind everyone that together we can nurture a cleaner and healthier future and cleaner and healthier Iloilo City,” said Shaima Robles Al Yansuri, Miss Iloilo 2024 second runner-up.
Another group of volunteers conducted a massive coastal clean-up activity in Barangays San Juan and Boulevard in Molo District.
Barangay Captain John Villanueva Sr. said the coastal clean-up sought to remind residents to properly dispose of their trash and not let it wash ashore.
The weekend activities were part of MORE Power’s program with the Iloilo City Environment and Natural Resources Office (Iloilo CENRO).
Danilo Benson of Iloilo CENRO said that over the years, MORE Power has been a constant environmental partner by initiating mangrove planning, coastal clean-ups, and release of fish fingerlings.
