Korean thriller series ‘Unmasked’ to stream on Disney+ this year

“Unmasked,” the Korean investigative thriller series starring actress Kim Hye-soo (“Signal,” “Smugglers”) and actor Jung Sung-il (“The Glory,” “Our Blues”), will be released exclusively on Disney+ in the second half of 2024. 

In the series, a team of investigative journalists is given an impossible task: to solve a 20-year-old cold case involving a famous actor who disappeared without a trace. “Unmasked” will take viewers inside the dizzying and enthralling world of investigative journalism as they try to save their careers after broadcasting an exceptionally controversial story and years of alienating advertisers.

Kim Hye Soo will play the role of the tenacious presenter Oh Soryong, and Jung Sung-il is  rookie producer Han Do. 

“Unmasked” is written by Gi Ryang, and directed by You Sundong (“The Uncanny Counter”).

The crime thriller is only one of the titles included in Disney+’s action-packed Korean slate for 2024. 

Award-winning series “Big Bet,” starring legendary actor Choi Minsik as a serial entrepreneur who repeatedly crosses the line to help bolster his burgeoning casino business; and “Moving,” about a group of South Korean special agents working to protect their super-powered children from harm and exploitation; as well as the recently released smash hit “A Shop For Killers” and an entire library of other unmissable entertainment are all available on Disney+.
