Tribu Rizal, Lucban Elementary top Panagbenga street dance tilt
BAGUIO CITY – Tribu Rizal from Kalinga topped the high school category of the Panagbenga Festival street dance competition here on Saturday, February 24.

The contingent composed of 135 students from the Rizal National School of Arts and Trades also received a special award for innovation in musical arrangement, excellence in festival dance costume, and festival dance choreography.
Narvacan Naisangsangayan of the San Pedro National High School in Narvacan, Ilocos Sur placed second. The Baguio City National High School-Special Program for the Arts Street Dancers was third.
Lucban Elementary School emerged on top in the elementary drum and lyre street dancing competition and received the special award for innovation in musical arrangement.
Tuba Central School from Tuba, Benguet was second and bagged the special award for excellence in drum and lyre dance costumes and choreography. Manuel Roxas Elementary School of Baguio City placed third.
Earlier on February 18, the Saeng ya Kasay Cultural Ensemble of the University of Cordilleras won the Panagbenga Cultural Dance Competition for the second straight year. The Bimaak Cultural Dance Troupe placed second and Sakusak Musical Ensemble was third.
The event was held at the Melvin Jones Grandstand and Football Grounds with the theme “Rhythm and Blooms of the Highlands.”
The awarding ceremony for winners in the street dance, float, and other competitions in the Panagbenga with the theme "Celebrating Traditions, Embracing Innovation" will be held during the Session Road in Bloom event on March 3 culminating the month-long celebration.
