Pickup truck fatally runs over boy, 4, in Bacolod

BACOLOD CITY – A four-year-old boy died after he was run over by a pickup truck in Barangay 22 here on Saturday, February 24.

Police Capt. Francis Depasucat, head of Police Station 4, said the victim was hiding under the parked vehicle while playing with other children.

The 35-year-old pickup truck driver checked the sides and rear of the vehicle when he alighted. 

However, he failed to notice the victim when he reversed the vehicle and run over him.

The victim was taken to Corazon Locsin Montelibano Memorial Regional Hospital (CLMMRH) here where he died. 

Depasucat said that both parties have reached an initial settlement. He added that the pickup truck driver has extended assistance to the victim’s family.
