The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee is a lively and participatory comedic experience inspired by a Broadway experience, De Venecia said.
In the 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee, realtor Rona Lisa Peretti hosts a high school spelling bee with diverse contestants.
Quirky characters like Barfée and Marcy compete in a series of amusing and poignant moments. The competition leads to a final showdown between Olive and Barfée with Barfée winning in the end.
The story concludes with a compassionate solution to personal challenges and glimpses into the characters' futures shaped by their spelling bee experiences.
De Venecia, a key figure in the country's creative industries, urged support for the musical.
“Hope you can support this gem of a musical. A labor of love and a wellspring of talent and creativity for @thesandboxco’s opening salvo for its 10th year. See you at the theater!"
The Sandbox Collective’s 10th anniversary offering is showing at the PowerMac Center, Spotlight Blackbox Theater, Circuit Makati City, from February 24 to March 17.
