30 intricate floats compete in Panagbenga


BAGUIO CITY – Thirty intricately designed floats participated in the grand float parade competition of the Panagbenga Festival here on Sunday morning, February 25.

The parade featuring small, medium, and large floats, including Hall of Famers, is considered the crowd drawer of the Panagbenga Festival with the theme "Celebrating Traditions, Embracing Innovation."

Three floats participated in the small category, 14 in the medium, and 13 in the large.

Joining the medium category were Bingo Plus, Commission on Elections, KFC Philippines, Mang Inasal, Palawan Pawnshop, Paragon Hotel and Suites, Protect & Gamble/Youthopia Activation Specialist Inc., Fresh N' Famous Foods Inc.-Chowking, Unilever Phils. Inc.-Knorr, Unilever Phils Inc.-Sunsilk, Unilever Phils Inc.-Surf Fabric Conditioner, Unilever Phils Inc.-Surf Powder, and Zaparita's Garden.

In the large category were the Bases Conversion and Development Authority (BCDA) and John Hay Management Corp. (JHMC), Binggrae-Caper Consumer Business Innovation Inc., Glamorouso Urdaneta City, GMA Kapuso/Walang Matigi na Pulis sa Matinik na Misis, Golden Arches Corp.-McDonald’s Philippines, International Pharmaceutical Inc., Jollibee Foods Corp., National Authority for Child Care (NACC)-Regional Authority for Childcare-Cordillera, Nongshim-Caper Consumer Business Innovation Inc., Pangasinan Solid North Transit Inc., Regasco, SCD-Eevor Skincare Depot, and the Tourism Infrastructure and Enterprise Zone Authority.

Hall of Famers Baguio Country Club and SM City Baguio were also seen, along with non-competing City Government of Baguio and the Department of Tourism-Cordillera.

Some floats had celebrities on board. Winning floats will be based on their faithfulness with the theme.
