The local government of Navotas City inaugurated eight new hemodialysis machines in Navotas City Hospital on Friday, Feb. 23.

The city public information office said the city hospital has increased its capacity from 15 to 21 sessions per day for non-infectious patients, while one machine or three sessions were designated for patients with infectious diseases.
Philhealth members were entitled to receive up to 156 hemodialysis sessions annually. Upon or before reaching this limit, patients were enrolled in national and local medical assistance programs to assist in covering the cost of each session worth P2,600.

Patients were able to avail two to three dialysis treatments per week, it added.
PIO also said that to be included in the list of beneficiaries, patients must undergo a checkup by a nephrologist or internal medicine physician on duty.
They will also be briefed on dialysis treatment protocols, policies, treatment schedules, and other relevant information, it added.
Navotas City Mayor John Rey Tiangco emphasized the city's commitment to providing the best possible medical services while encouraging residents to prioritize their health to prevent lifestyle diseases.

“We seek to provide the best possible medical services that's why we also strive to keep our equipment and facilities in top shape,” Tiangco said.
"However, more than giving them these services, we want Navoteños to take good care of their health to avoid contracting lifestyle diseases and undergoing treatments," he added.
