Light rains to prevail over parts of the Philippines due to 'amihan', easterlies
Light rains may be expected in some areas of the archipelago as the northeast monsoon affects the extreme northern part of Luzon, while easterlies continue to dominate the rest of the country, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) said on Saturday, Feb. 24.

In its 4 a.m. bulletin, PAGASA said Bicol Region, Northern Samar, Eastern Samar, and Samar will have cloudy skies with scattered rain showers and thunderstorms caused by the easterlies or the warm winds from the Pacific Ocean.
It warned the public of flash floods or landslides that may occur in these areas due to moderate to heavy rains.
Meanwhile, the northeast monsoon, locally known as "amihan," may bring cloudy skies with light rains to Batanes and Babuyan Islands, while partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated light rains to Ilocos Region, Cordillera Administrative Region, and the rest of Cagayan Valley.
In Metro Manila and the rest of the country, partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers or thunderstorms will be felt caused by the easterlies or localized thunderstorms.
The public is also warned of flash floods or landslides that may occur in the affected areas during severe thunderstorms.
