Cops net P5-M marijuana in checkpoint


LUBUAGAN, Kalinga – Police seized marijuana bricks worth P5 million from four suspected drug couriers in a checkpoint in Sitio Dinakan, Barangay Dangoy, Lubuagan, Kalinga, on Thursday, February 22.

Police Capt. Ruff Manganip, Kalinga police spokesperson, identified the suspects as Jerome Dizon Postor, 24; Randell Mark Pancho Limuco, 22; and Zand Mark Johnsen Edulon de Castro, 21, residents of Guiguinto, Bulacan; and Judelyn Tomas Santos, 20, of Baliuag, Bulacan.

Police flagged down a speeding white Hyundai Stargazer SUV with conduction sticker K2X501. However, the vehicle accelerated and bumped the checkpoint signage.

A search was conducted on vehicle and found marijuana concealed at the backseat of the vehicle.

Police arrested the driver for resisting arrest and disobedience to a person in authority.

Police seized the vehicle, key, a temporary driver's license under the name of one of the suspects, a blue bag pack, one black travelling bag, and four boxes.

An on-site inventory was conducted in the presence of the suspects and insulating witnesses. 

They were taken to the Lubuagan police station for documentation and filing of appropriate charges.
