Na-hack! Marikina PIO, Rep. Teodoro's Facebook accounts hacked
The official Facebook page of the Marikina City Public Information Office (PIO) and personal Facebook account of Marikina City Rep. Maan Teodoro were hacked this month, the lawmaker announced on Thursday, February 22.

"Ikinalulungkot naming sabihin na ang aking personal na Facebook account at pampublikong Facebook page ng Marikina PIO ay na-hack nito lamang Martes. Anumang mensahe o posts na manggagaling sa mga page na ito ay ipagsawalang bahala. Mangyaring i-unfollow ito (We sadly inform everyone that my personal Facebook account and the Facebook page of the Marikina PIO were hacked this Tuesday. Whatever messages or posts that will be coming from these pages are false and should be ignored by the public. Please unfollow these accounts)," Teodoro said.
Marikina City Mayor Marcy Teodoro also confirmed the hacking incident on Friday, February 23.
"The Marikina PIO Facebook page has been hacked by unscrupulous individuals, rendering it inaccessible to our PIO personnel. Our official Facebook page became inaccessible to our staff on February 21, 2024 This cyberattack on the city's official communication channel has affected our ability to provide unhampered assistance to the people of Marikina," Mayor Teodoro said.
"In the meantime, you may message the Marikina City Rescue 161 Facebook page for any concerns. We will continue to provide information and much-needed assistance to our constituents," he added.
The mayor assured the public that those involved in the hacking incident will face the full force of the law as the city government is now coordinating with the local police to identify the individuals behind the hacking.
