Gonzales sends ominous message to Quiboloy

Senior Deputy Speaker Pampanga 3rd district Rep. Aurelio "Dong" Gonzales Jr. has given am ominous message to Pastor Apollo Quiboloy, who is currently in hiding after both the House of Representatives and the Senate issued subpoena against him. 

Asked about the issue on Quiboloy during a recent press conference, a stern-faced Gonzales simply said: "Magkita-kita po tayo Pastor Quiboloy sa March 12 (Let's see each other Pastor Quiboloy on March 12)." 

March 12 is the next hearing date of the House Committee on Legislative Franchises, which is looking to the alleged franchise violations of controversial television network SMNI. Quiboloy is widely known as the founder of SMNI and holds a position of power there. 

Quiboloy, leader of the Kingdom of Jesus Christ (KOJC) church, refers to himself as the self-proclaimed "Appointed Son of God". 

Rather than confirm his attendance to the upcoming hearing, Quiboloy made unfounded and absurd claims, accusing President Marcos, First Lady Liza Araneta-Marcos, and House Speaker Martin Romualdez of colluding with the United States (US) to abduct or assassinate him. 

In a subsequent statement, Gonzales, said Quiboloy's actions indicate a desperate attempt to deflect from the issue and set the stage for potential defiance of the subpoena. 

"We remind Pastor Quiboloy that he must comply with the subpoena, or we will have no choice but to hold him in contempt and proceed with his arrest," he said.

“No one is above the law. Pastor Quiboloy is not exempt from the law,” added the Pampangueño, who is the highest-ranked official in the House next only to Romualdez. 

The Senate Committee on Women, Children, Family Relations, and Gender Equality has also summoned Quiboloy to attend its scheduled hearing on March 5. The be tackled are the alleged cases of human trafficking and abuse of women and children in KOJC. 

Quiboloy has been wanted in the US since late 2021 after a California court indicted him for charges of sex trafficking by force, fraud, and coercion, sex trafficking of children, marriage fraud, fraud and misuse of visas, bulk cash smuggling, promotional money laundering, concealment money laundering, and international promotional money laundering. 

Quiboloy is the spiritual adviser of former president Rodrigo Duterte.
