ILOILO CITY – Police Brig. Gen. Jack Wanky wants the police in Western Visayas to have stronger partnerships with other law enforcement agencies and the local governments against crime.

“Working together in a coordinated manner allows PRO-6, other law enforcement agencies, and stakeholders to have a positive impact in promoting public safety and security for the people of Western Visayas,” said Wanky during his first command conference after taking over as director of the Police Regional Office (PRO)-6.
Wanky ordered police officers assigned to the regional headquarters and Aklan, Antique, Capiz, Guimaras, Iloilo, and Negros Occidental as well as the highly urbanized cities of Iloilo and Bacolod to collaborate with governors, mayors, and other stakeholders.
He outlined his approach for an honest-to-goodness law enforcement operations.
Wanky ordered the continuous campaign against illegal drugs and plans to bring back regular checkpoints, strengthen police visibility by deploying mobile patrols and policemen in key public places, and help LGUs implement local ordinances.
He urged police units to tap force multipliers such as barangay tanods (watchmen), advocacy groups, and other groups.
Wanky assured that lawmen in the region will undergo mandatory and specialized training to enhance their capabilities.
