ICYDK: Your favorite buchi gets a delightful peanut twist

Chowking introduces two additions to its menu—the Family Lauriat and Peanut Buchi

The Lunar New Year is a time when families make special bonds and practice ancient traditions to ensure prosperity throughout the year. For the longest time, the event has been commemorated in the Philippines, but what many don’t know is that its festivities ran for around 16 days with the Festival of Latern putting a grand end to it. This means people have days to celebrate it—and the best way to do it is through food. Lucky for us, there are many food spots in the metro to feast on the best Chinese eats, one of which is Chowking.

To welcome the Year of the Dragon on a high note, the Filipino restaurant chain recently unveiled new items on its menu—the Family Lauriat and peanut buchi—to kick off its “Share the Sarap ng Swerte” campaign. Inspired by the Filipinos’ “salo-salo” heritage, Chowking brings to the table the Family Lauriat, a mega serving of its beloved dishes. It features Chinese-style fried chicken, pancit canton, siomai, buchi, chicharap, and egg fried rice in customized packaging good for four or six people.

To add more sweetness to the mix, Chowking also introduced the peanut buchi, a sweet and sticky sensation crafted to capture good luck and ensure it sticks. It's also available on a platter, as a captivating centerpiece for the table, or as a heartfelt gift for your loved ones. Seize the opportunity to savor the peanut buchi, exclusively available for a limited time only.
