The Flying Titans, who seek to eclipse their runner-up finish in last year’s Second All-Filipino Conference, blasted the Chameleons with their hard-hitting spikes to open their campaign on a high note.

High-leaping Sisi Rondina paced with 17 points including 16 kills, while Kat Tolentino fired 12 points on nine attacks, two blocks and one ace for Choco Mucho, which was working its way around after the departure of Bea De Leon and Denden Revilla to recruitment.

New recruit Mars Alba also shone for the Flying Titans  as she filled in for Deanna Wong, who was still recuperating with her injury.

Alba came through with 18 of the team’s 20 excellent sets on top of two points.

“Thankful kami sa performance namin ngayon. First set pa lang, kami na nag-dictate ng tempo. May mga times na dumidikit sila pero maganda pa rin yung pag-handle namin hanggang sa dulo,” said Choco Mucho coach Dante Alinsunurin.

The Flying Titans also got a big lift from Chery Nunag, who had 10 points, and Isa Molde, who chipped in eight points.

Aduke Ogunsanya played only on the third set and managed three points before suffering a bad fall.

Nxled struggled to outshine Choco Mucho’s offense with Ivy Lacsina and Krich Macaslang at the forefront of its attack, but the Flying Titans were too much to handle.

Macaslang and Lacsina were the top scorers for the Chameleons, but only registered seven and six points, respectively.
