BMW Philippines took the wraps off the most important models in its line-up, the all-new 5 series, now available in gas and electric versions. In gas (internal combustion engine, ICE) form, it is called the 520i. In fully-electric form, it is called the i5 eDrive40.
These two models serve as the 5 Series’ 8th generation, embracing the future in internal combustion engines and electric mobility.
Striking presence

Both variants bear the new design language, emphasizing sporty elegance and presence. The front features the new twin headlights and BMW kidney grille. LED daytime running lamps are arranged almost vertically and serve as turn indicators too. The BMW kidney grille features BMW Iconic Glow contour lighting surrounding it to make the vehicle even more distinct on the road.
Its profile features a high shoulder line, sculpted surfaces and character lines to create an athletic body. Black side skirts, flush-mounted door handles and an embossed number 5 at the base of the C-pillar are further eye-catchers. Behind, flat rear lights divided by a chrome strip serve as the latest interpretation of the hallmark L-shape taillights. The BMW 520i is fitted with silver 19-inch Triplex spoke 933 light alloy wheels, while the BMW i5 eDrive40 comes with bicolor grey 19-inch aerodynamic wheels.

There are 6 different kinds of paintwork for both the BMW 520i and the BMW i5 eDrive40. Both models will be available in Mineral White, Black Sapphire, Cape York Green, Oxide Grey, Phytonic Blue, and Sophisto Grey.
A fully vegan interior

Both variants are designed to pamper whether in everyday traffic or long-distance journeys. Both are the brand's first models to feature a fully vegan leather interior called Veganza. This includes the surfaces of the newly designed sports seats, the dashboard, and the door panels, as well as the steering wheel for the first time.
Innovative flair

The cockpit has a significantly reduced number of buttons and controls compared to its predecessor. Many functions have been digitalized, like adjusting vehicle settings, through the BMW Widescreen Display which is comprised of a 12.3-inch Information Display and a 14.9-inch Control Display.
The steering wheel features a flattened lower section and haptic feedback on the control panels, and the selector lever on the center console. Both also have a Interaction Bar, a backlit functional unit with crystalline surface structure that extends across the entire width of the instrument panel far into the door panels and includes touch-sensitive control panels.
Entertainment is care of a Harman Kardon entertainment system composed of 12 speakers and 205 watts to produce an impressive balanced sound that reaches all the corners of the car. For even better connectivity, the Smartphone Integration function is now compatible with both Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. Passengers may also conveniently charge their smartphones on the go with the wireless charging tray.
BMW ConnectedDrive

Both variants of the BMW 5 Series will be equipped with BMW ConnectedDrive that allows customers to gain access to the MyBMW App. This lets them remotely control vehicle functions and access essential vehicle information directly from their smartphones, ensuring they always stay informed and in command. They also include Remote Software Upgrade and BMW Maps which can be updated over the air to provide real-time traffic data.
