Bishop David elected vice president of Federation of Asian Bishops' Conferences
Catholic Bishops' Conference of the Philippines (CBCP) president Bishop Pablo Virgilio David was chosen to serve as vice president of the Federation of Asian Bishops' Conferences (FABC).

Kalookan Bishop David was selected to fill the second-highest position in the FABC during the central committee meeting held in Bangkok, Thailand on Feb. 15, CBCP said in a statement on Thursday, Feb. 22.
He will serve alongside Indian Cardinal Filipe Neri Ferrão of Goa, who was elected as the next FABC president.
Ferrão will be the successor of Yangon Cardinal Charles Maung Bo, while David will be next-in-line to Colombo Cardinal Malcolm Ranjith.
CBCP said David and Ferrão alongside Tokyo Archbishop Tarcisius Isao Kikuchi, who will be serving as the secretary general in his second term, will start their duties in FABC in January 2025.
"FABC brings together 19 bishops’ conferences of Asia as full members and 8 associate members," CBCP said.
"Approved by the Holy See, it unites Asian episcopal conferences to promote solidarity and co-responsibility for the welfare of the Church and society in Asia," it added
