5 reasons to watch 'Apartment404' with Yoo Jae-suk, Jennie on Prime Video

The upcoming Korean reality variety program “Apartment404” is generating a lot of buzz ahead of its premiere on Prime Video on Feb. 23.

“Apartment404” (아파트 404) stars Yoo Jae-suk, Cha Tae-hyun, Oh Na-ra, Yang Se-chan, BLACKPINK’s Jennie, and “Moving” star Lee Jung-ha.

It is an eight-episode retro reality variety program with episodes released weekly every Friday.

The show is set in an apartment building where the six residents trace the truth behind extraordinary events that occur in their residences. With events based on true stories, each episode will have a unique setting and take place in a different period. The six cast members will split up into two teams, along with special guests, and compete against one another. At the end of the series, one person will be crowned the winner of the show.

Here are the reasons why people need to watch “Apartment404.”

Yoo Jae-suk is one of the most beloved television hosts in Korea and has a long list of popular programs he’s been on including “Running Man.” Cha Tae-hyun is known for his acting in movies like “My Sassy Girl,” but he’s also known for his variety shows like “Unexpected Business.” Oh Na-ra is an actress who has acted in series like “SKY Castle” and “Alchemy of Souls.” Yang Se-chan is a comedian known for being a cast member of “Running Man.” Jennie is a member of K-pop group BLACKPINK who has captivated fans through the stage and the screen. Lee Jung-ha is a rising actor who impressed with his role in the drama series “Moving.” With cast members who are well-versed in entertaining, “Apartment404” will not disappoint.

Producing director Jeong Cheol-min might be a familiar name if you’ve watched some of his hit variety shows. He knows how to make popular content and has brought people he’s worked with in the past to join “Apartment404.” He worked with Yoo Ja-esuk on “Running Man,” “Sixth Sense,” and “Village Survival, the Eight.” Oh Na-ra also worked with him on “Sixth Sense,” Yang Se-chan on “Running Man,” and Jennie on “Village Survival, the Eight.” While Jeong Cheol-min has not worked with Cha Tae-hyun and Lee Jung-ha previously, Cha Tae-hyun and Lee Jung-ha both acted in “Moving” together. We can trust that Jeong Cheol-min will be able to work his magic once again with “Apartment404.”

3. Amazing Events

All of the events and mysteries that the “Apartment404” cast will be investigating are based on true events that took place in apartments in Korea. While the true events took place in different parts of Korea and at different time periods, the cast will be viewing them within one building for the show. The members will look for clues related to these extraordinary events and solve interesting mysteries. A lot of fun and entertainment will be packed into these episodes as audiences learn about real events that took place in Korea.

With each episode having a unique setting and taking place in different time periods, the cast members will be revisiting those time periods. The blast from the past brings a nice, retro element to the show. There will be fun nostalgic vibes with each episode and a look into what Korea was like each of those years. From what’s going on in the news to common household items at that time, there will be a lot to enjoy. Furthermore, we can see the cast members decked out in great retro fashion.

Cast members will be competing in teams and also against one another as they race to figure out the mysteries in each episode. In the process, they will play various games to get clues and various advantages in order to solve the cases. There’ll be familiar games if you’ve watched Korean variety shows before. If you haven’t, you can learn some common games played in Korea that might have similar versions in your country as well. Watching the cast play games means there will be lots of hilarious and chaotic moments for sure.
