US embassy confident justice will be meted out to Quiboloy
The US Embassy in Manila is confident that Pastor Apollo Quiboloy will “face justice for his heinous crimes,” which include alleged sex trafficking, fraud and smuggling.
Kanishka Gangopadhyay, the embassy’s spokesman, on Wednesday, Feb. 21, made the remark after the Kingdom of Jesus Christ founder claimed the US government is working with the Philippine government to have him extradited to the US to face trial.
Quiboloy is currently on the Federal Bureau of Investigation’s (FBI’s) wanted list after a Los Angeles court charged him and his associates of conspiracy to engage in sex trafficking by force, fraud, and coercion, sex trafficking of children, conspiracy, and bulk cash smuggling.
Quiboloy also claimed in a video on his YouTube page that the FBI is doing surveillance on him.
"For more than a decade, Apollo Quiboloy engaged in serious human rights abuses, including a pattern of systemic and pervasive rape of girls as young as 11 years old, and is currently on the FBI’s Most Wanted List," Gangopadhay said.
"We are confident that Quiboloy will face justice for his heinous crimes. Questions about legal proceedings should be directed to the US Department of Justice," he added.
