
The Bulacan Environment and Natural Resources Office (BENRO) turned over a rescued brown Serpent Eagle to the Community Environment and Natural Resources Office in Guiguinto, Bulacan, on Monday, February 19.
The majestic bird, measuring one foot tall, with an impressive wingspan of four feet and weighing approximately two and a half kilos was found by Rufino E. Lañada from Sta. Rita, Guiguinto on February 9.
It was immediately handed over to the Provincial Engineer’s Office in Tabang, Guiguinto then relocated to the Official Residence of the Provincial Government of Bulacan, where it was cared for nine days.
The Serpent Eagle was finally brought to the Manila Wildlife Rescue Center in Quezon City on Tuesday, Feb. 20.
