'Fun Run For A Cause' on Feb. 24 to benefit orphanage in Tanay, Rizal

Participants in the 28-kilometer distance fun run covering a portion of the Marikina-Infanta-Rizal-Laguna-Quezon Highway, known as MARILAQUE Highway, on Saturday, Feb. 24, will be helping an orphanage in Tanay, Rizal.
As of Feb. 21, there were more than 1,100 runners who registered to join the MARILAQUE RUN 2024, a fund-raising marathon event organized by the Rehoboth Sampaloc Ministries, a non-dominated ministry in Tanay, Rizal, for the benefit of the orphaned, neglected, abandoned, and surrendered children of its institution.
Registered participants of the biggest "fun run for a noble cause" activity in Tanay, aside from helping the orphanage kids, will bring home souvenir items such as Marilaque Run 2024 shirt, a raffle ticket, a certificate, a race bib, and an exclusive event medal.
The fun run, with distance categories such as 5, 10, 15 and 28 kilometers respectively, will start at 5 a.m. on Feb. 24 at Sampaloc, Tanay covering the uphill Marilaque Highway all throughout YES City in Barangay Cuyambay then back to Barangay Sampaloc, according to the event organizer. Registration starts at 4 a.m.
The marathon event for a cause is co-presented by the Municipal Government of Tanay, Tanay Municipal Police Station, UCM ATV Motors, Tinkit Solutions, Wyndell’s Al Fresco, DAPOG Lutong Kahoy, Pico de Pino Café and Restaurant, Isaw Haus, BNK Café and Resto, Love K-Glow, Decathlon, Anytime Fitness, and Whey King Supplements, among others.
The office of Tanay Mayor Rafael Tanjuatco said the event is also being supported by Rizal Governor Nina Ricci Ynares and the provincial government, including some 200 volunteers from the Philippine Army’s Second Infantry Division and Tanay’s Barangay Cuyambay and Sampaloc and the employees and officials of the Tanay Municipal Government.
