Candidate withdraws from Miss Universe Philippines 2024 competition

Natasha Jung of the municipality of Kananga is withdrawing from the Miss Universe Philippine 2024 beauty pageant for personal reasons.

Jung announced her withdrawal from the competition on social media on Feb. 22.

"As of the moment, I would like to prioritize my personal growth and commitments, and not to further involve the organization on the matter. I am stepping away as an official candidate for Miss Universe Philippines 2024. I will, nonetheless remain committed to, and continuously promote my individual causes," Jung said in a statement.

Following Jung's withdrawal, only 54 girls are competing for the Miss Universe Philippines 2024 crown.

Her full statement:

"I,Natasha Ellema Jung, announces today my withdrawal from participating in the upcoming Miss Universe Philippines 2024 as an official representative of the Municipality of Kananga. Due to personal reasons.

"As of the moment, I would like to prioritize my personal growth and commitments, and not to further involve the organization on the matter. While stepping away as an official candidate of Miss Universe Philippines 2024. I will, nonetheless remain committed to, and continuously promote my individual causes.

"I will use this time to reflect on myself, my priorities, and to address the personal matters that require my immediate attention. It is essential for me to take this opportunity to ensure that I am in the best possible state to navigate through this challenges effectively. I will also be evaluating my future commitments and endeavors, ensuring that I am able to dedicate myself fully when the time is right.

"Lastly,I express my deepest gratitude for the opportunity to be part of such a prestigious competition and be named as Miss Universe Philippines-Kananga 2024.I am genuinely appreciative of the support,love, and understanding of the Organization, particularly Ms. @aprilhappymuch , has extended to me throughout the process. At the same time, I would also like to extend my sincerest apologies to the organization of Miss Kananga, fellow participants, sponsors, supporters, most especially Ms. April Tanhueco- Miss Universe Philippines Kananga Accredited Partner for any nuisance, trouble or inconvenience caused by my withdrawal.
