700 reams of undocumented cigarettes seized in Northern Samar
TACLOBAN CITY – The Philippine Coast Guard District Eastern Visayas Sub-Station Allen intercepted at least 700 reams of undocumented cigarettes at the Santa Clara Port in Jubasan, Allen, Northern Samar on Tuesday, February 20.

Value of the contraband is yet to be disclosed as of posting time.
The Coast Guard Intelligence Group and Coast Guard Working Dog Narcotics Detection Dogs in Eastern Visayas discovered the contraband loaded in a closed six-wheel aluminum van while conducting a random paneling inspection.
It was comprised of 400 reams of Black Hawk Platinum Cigarettes, 200 reams of Platinum Cigarettes, and 100 reams of Canon Menthol Cigarettes.
The van was driven by a certain Argie Labrador, 27, a resident of Pasig City.
Initial investigation disclosed that the cigarettes came from Zamboanga City bound for Oas, Albay.
PCG-Northern Samar coordinated with the Bureau of Internal Revenue (BIR)-Region 8 for the necessary documentation, proper inventory, and handling of the seized items.
