Siquijor Gov. Jake Vincent Villa thanked BPSF for covering all families in the island as beneficiaries of its programs.

BPSF is a convergence of government programs housed in provinces through caravans. Siquijor is its 11th recipient province since it was launched last August.

House Speaker Martin Romualdez graced the opening of the BPSF in the province as he represented President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. and the House of Representatives which was tasked to implement the caravan all throughout the 17 regions.

In his speech, Villa underscored that the national program is “historic for Siquijor.”

“We are happy to have been chosen as the venue for the first Bagong Pilipinas Serbisyo Fair in the Visayas-Mindanao area,” the governor said.

Villa thanked Romualdez for bringing BPSF to Siquijor.

“You are the first Speaker of the House that came to our humble island. Hindi po namin makakalimutan ito (We will never forget this),” Villa said.

Siquijor Rep. Zaldy Villa, who served as local host of the program, affirmed that aside from bringing in the largest service caravan in the country to Siquijor, the province also took pride to be the first recipient-province to cover all families with over 200 programs from 39 agencies.

Rep. Villa said that more than P300 million will be distributed to the people of Siquijor.

“For the first time, all families in Siquijor will receive assistance from the government,” Rep. Villa told Romualdez.

The BPSF has recorded more than one million beneficiaries from 11 provinces nationwide.
