LINGAYEN, Pangasinan – Police are investigating a series of hoax bomb threats in this province this month.
Various schools in Pangasinan have received hoax bomb threats via social media accounts used in previous instances of hoax bomb threats.

"We are in contact with the Provincial Cyber Crime Action Team for possible identification of the person spreading false information on social media," the Pangasinan Police Provincial Office said in a statement.
Police reminded the people in this province to avoid disseminating and spreading hoax bomb threats. Violators face fines and imprisonment under Presidential Decree No. 1727, the Anti-Bomb Joke Law, they said.
People were reminded to vigilant and resilient in the face of fear and encouraged every community leader to keep their constituents well-informed.
Police urged the people to to avoid sharing unverified information as this can lead to unnecessary panic and confusion.
