During the February 19 command turnover ceremony in this city, Acorda urged Wanky not to slow down as the anti-drug campaign was the key accomplishment of Wanky’s predecessor, Police Brig. Gen. Sidney Villaflor.
A total of P390-million worth of illegal drugs were seized during Villaflor’s nine-month leadership.
A total of 57.470 kilograms of shabu and 269.768 grams of marijuana were seized from 2,137 drug suspects in 1,630 anti-drug operations from May 24, 2023 to February 15, 2024.
Villaflor ensured that lawmen in Aklan, Antique, Capiz, Guimaras, Iloilo, and Negros Occidental provinces as well as the highly urbanized cities of Iloilo and Bacolod were not engaged in illegal drug use and trade.
Under Villaflor’s leadership, the PRO-6 procured 5,000 drug test kits for police personnel.
Wanky assured Acorda he will continue Villaflor’s programs, especially on the campaign against illegal drugs.
Wanky is not new to Western Visayas as his wife is an Ilongga. He was also assigned at Iloilo City Police Office (ICPO) and world-famous Boracay Island in Malay town, Aklan province.
