A motorcycle rider was killed after hitting a multipurpose vehicle (MPV) along Amang Rodriguez Ave., Brgy. Dela Paz, Pasig City on Tuesday, Feb. 20, first responders said.

According to the authorities, the motorcycle rider hit a gray Toyota Avanza that was turning towards a warehouse in the area. Due to the force of the impact, the rider was flung from his motorcycle and landed on top of the Avanza, killing him instantly.
Bystanders and witnesses in the area told Manila Bulletin that the motorcycle rider was speeding through traffic and possibly failed to see the turning vehicle despite having its signal light on.
"Ang bilis nung motor , humaharurot talaga, tapos nagulat na lang ako sumabog na lang sya pagbangga. Hindi nya siguro nakita yung lumiliko sa bilis nya kaya nabulaga sya. Dapat kasi nagmemenor sya kasi bandang crossing to eh madami naliko (The motorcycle was definitely overs peeding then the rider was seen being flung and landed on the vehicle. Maybe he didn't see the turning vehicle because of his speed. The rider should have slowed down especially since this is a crossing where a lot of vehicles are turning)," a male witness said.
Police officers and members of the Scene of the Crime Operation (SOCO) are already in the area to further investigate the incident.
The accident also caused a huge traffic buildup in the area since the mangled motorcycle and the Avanza were occupying one lane of the road which has been closed.
