DAVAO CITY – The Philippine Army 10th Infantry Division recognized on Monday, February 19, individuals who helped in the disaster response and rescue operations following the massive landslide in Barangay Masara, Maco, Davao de Oro early this month.

The awardees, who were feted at the 10th ID Parade Ground in Camp Gen. Manuel T. Yan Sr. in Mawab, Davao de Oro, were selected from 109 individuals from various units who took part in the rescue operations.
Army 10th ID commander Major Gen. Allan D. Hambala pinned medals to the personnel of the 10th ID Emergency Response Company, 25th Infantry Battalion, Military Working Dogs, 11th Regional Community Defense Group, and 525th Engineer Combat Battalion.
The citation highlights the exceptional performance of the recipients, demonstrating their strong commitment to duty, which led to the rescue of the 32 injured individuals and the recovery of 93 fatalities.
Hambala thanked all personnel who tirelessly dedicated their efforts during the search, rescue, and retrieval operations in Masara.
“The dedication and professionalism while putting yourselves in harm’s way are testament to the noble values that define our armed forces,” Hambala said.
