Two alleged marijuana peddlers were arrested by members of the Pasay City police substation after they yielded 107 grams of dried marijuana leaves on Monday, February 19.
The city police chief, Col. Mario Mayames, identified the suspects as alias Daryll, 22, a painter, and alias Emjay, 21, a student, both residents of Sta. Cruz, Manila.
Mayames said the suspects were arrested at around 5:00 a.m. in front of Trium Square located along Gil Puyat Avenue, Barangay 23, Pasay City.
He said members of substation one were conducting mobile patrol along the area as part of the ongoing Simultaneous Anti-Criminality Law Enforcement Operation (SACLEO) against Motorcycle Riding Suspects (MRS) when they spotted the suspect on board a motorcycle disregarding the counter traffic flow.
The city police chief said the suspects were flagged down by the police officers and were told to open the motorcycle compartment where they found two plastic zip lock containing 56.20 grams and 50.90 grams of dried marijuana leaves worth P12, 852.
Mayames said aside from the marijuana leaves, the Yamaha Mio Soul motorcycle of the suspects was also confiscated for verification.
The suspects are now detained at the police custodial facility.
