“Umaasa tayo na mas marami pang katulad nina Trix, Naomi, Kester, at Elize ang maging bahagi ng ating proyekto (We are hoping that more students like Trix, Naomi, Kester, and Elize will be a part of the project),” the OVP said in a Facebook post.
The post was referring to the four young learners that Duterte took with her to her official trips—Trix, a Grade 9 student who went to Japan with the Vice President; Naomi, a Grade 8 student who she took to Brunei and Singapore; Kester, a Grade 4 student who accompanied her to South Korea; and Elize, a Grade 11 student who went to Malaysia.
The official met them during her visits to different public schools as part of her capacity as the country’s Education chief.
Trixie came with Duterte during the state funeral of former Japanese prime minister Shinzo Abe, while Naomi, Kester, and Elize were brought for her work as Southeast Asian Ministers of Education Organization (SEAMEO) president.
“Iilan lamang sila sa mga kabataang Pilipino na nagpakita ng pagpapahalaga sa edukasyon, at magandang halimbawa sa kanilang kapwa kabataan (They are just a few of the Filipino youth who showed importance to education, and became food examples to their fellow youth),” the OVP added.
According to the post, the YCBVP wants to improve the capacity and critical-thinking of the Filipino youth.
“Ang YCBVP ay isang programa ng OVP na naglalayong bigyan ang mga kalahok ng pagkakataon na makita at maranasan ang trabaho ng isang Bise Presidente sa pamamagitan ng pagsama sa kanyang mga opisyal na mga engagements (The YCBVP is an OVP program that aims to provide the participants the chance to see and experience the work of a Vice President by joining her official engagements),” Duterte’s office said.
The OVP hopes that Filipinos will continue to give inspiration, hope, and strength to the youth and their future.
