The Navotas City local government through the Public Employment Service Office (PESO) and the Navotas Polytechnic College (NPC) signed a memorandum of agreement to establish PESO help desks in all senior high schools in the city on Monday, Feb. 19.

Navotas City Mayor John Rey Tiangco along with Schools Division Superintendent Dr. Meliton Zurbano, NPC President Dr. Joel Chavez, and Supervising Labor and Employment Officer of the Department of Labor and Employment- Caloocan, Malabon Navotas, and Valenzuela (Camanava) signed the agreement.
The agreement aims to enhance the provision of employment services to students and fresh graduates in Navotas.
The program will offer various services including the Special Program for the Employment of Students (SPES), job market information, referral and placement services, career guidance and employment coaching, and Labor Education for Graduating Students (LEGS), etc.

The mayor highlighted the importance of guiding and preparing the Navoteño youth for their chosen careers through the help of PESO desks.
"But more than being career-ready, we hope young Navoteños will develop discipline, critical and creative thinking, emotional stability, adaptability, and other skills and values that will help them become successful in life," Tiangco added.

The event was attended by key officials, including PESO Navotas action officer Estrelita Aguilar, SDO Navotas Curriculum Implementation Division chief Dr. Marco Meduranda, and Public School District Supervisor Editha Peregrine.
The LGU said that they will support jobseekers by organizing weekly in-house job interviews and mega job fairs.
They will also provide assistance and identify potential partners for student work immersion programs.
