Humid weather to persist over the country due to easterlies --- PAGASA
Humid weather will persist over the archipelago as the easterlies remain the dominant weather system in the country, said the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) on Monday, Feb. 19.

In PAGASA's latest live broadcast, weather expert Aldczar Aurelio said the easterlies or the warm winds from the Pacific Ocean continue to prevail.
"Ngayong araw asahan pa rin ang maalinsangang panahon hindi lamang sa Metro Manila kundi pati na sa iba't-ibang bahagi ng bansa (Today, still expect humid weather not only in Metro Manila but also in different parts of the country)," Aldczar said.
"Patuloy pa rin ang epekto ng easterlies kaya nakakaranas tayo ng maalinsangang panahon (The effects of the easterlies persist that is why, we have been experiencing humid weather)," he added.
Meanwhile, although humid weather will be felt, Aldczar said there will still be chances of sudden light rains.
PAGASA said Metro Manila and the rest of the country will have partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers or thunderstorms due to easterlies or localized thunderstorms.
It warned the public of flash floods or landslides that may occur during severe thunderstorms.
Moreover, on Tuesday, Feb. 20, Aldczar said the country may experience "fair and good" weather due to the easterlies.
"Sa magiging lagay ng panahon bukas, patuloy pa rin ang epekto ng easterlies kaya sa Luzon pati na rin sa Visayas at Mindanao ay makakaranas bukas ng maganda at maaliwalas na panahon (For the weather tomorrow, effects of the easterlies will continue, so in Luzon, Visayas, and Mindanao, good and fair weather will be experienced), he said.
He added that humid weather, with chances of light rains due to thunderstorms, will still be experienced.
