CARMONA CITY, Cavite – A project to construct a Philippine General Hospital (PGH) branch in Cavite's newest city is currently underway, Gov. Jonvic Remulla announced on Monday, Feb. 19.

Remulla was one of the guests during the opening program of Carmona’s cityhood anniversary celebration led by Cavite 5th District Rep. Roy M. Loyola and Mayor Dahlia A. Loyola.
Also in attendance were Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) Sec. Rex Gatchalian, Vice Gov. Athena Tolentino, and GMA Mayor Maricel Echevarria Torres.
“Pinagtulung-tulungan natin ni congressman at ni mayora sa bagong Carmona Smart City, magkakaroon tayo ng Philippine General Hospital (We, together with the congressman and the mayor, collaborated on establishing a Philippine General Hospital in Carmona Smart City),” the governor said during his speech.

“At ipinangako ng ating secretary ng DSWD na lahat ng senior citizens ng Carmona, pagtayo ng bagong PGH, libre na ang panganganak (And our secretary of DSWD promised that all senior citizens of Carmona, upon the construction of the new PGH, will have free childbirth services),” Remulla joked, prompting laughter from the audience.
During the press conference for Carmona’s cityhood anniversary, Mayor Loyola confirmed that they have been coordinating with various stakeholders about the project.

“Little did I know na na-budgetan na at sana nga, dire-diretso (Little did I know that it had already been budgeted for, and hopefully, it continues without interruption),” Loyola said.
“Kaya tayo ay very thankful kasi napakalapit natin sa PGH at natutuwa ako, nagpo-progress pa, lalu’t higit, gagawin itong training hospital (That is why we are very thankful, because we are very close to the PGH, and I am happy that it is still progressing, especially since it will be made into a training hospital).”
Loyola mentioned a possible groundbreaking event for the project in June.
