4.7-magnitude quake hits Cagayan province; no damage to property or aftershocks expected
A magnitude 4.7 offshore earthquake hit Cagayan at 2:22 a.m. on Monday, Feb. 19, said the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (Phivolcs).

Phivolcs said the tremor is unlikely to cause damage to property nor aftershocks.
The earthquake was initially recorded at 5.3-magnitude, before it was revised to magnitude 4.7.
Phivolcs located the epicenter of the quake at 56 kilometers (km) northwest of Dalupiri Island in Calayan, Cagayan.
The tremor, which occurred at 20 km beneath the epicenter, was tectonic or caused by an active fault near the area, it said.
Its instruments recorded the quake at Intensity III (weak) in Claveria, Cagayan; and Pasuquin and City of Laoag, Ilocos Norte.
Meanwhile, it was "scarcely perceptible" at Intensity I in the City of Vigan, Ilocos Sur.
