CANDELARIA, Quezon – A 48-year-old tricycle driver was gunned down in Barangay Malabanban Norte here on Saturday night, February 17.
Police said the victim, Agaton de Silva, a resident of Barangay Buenavista East, this town, was walking on a footbridge when a man appeared and shot him in the head, killing him on the spot.
The suspect was wearing a black T-shirt and blue cap, 5’5” to 5’6,” and medium-built.
Meanwhile, a 32-year-old construction worker was allegedly killed by a security guard in an industrial park in Barangay Batino, Calamba City, Laguna on Saturday afternoon.
Police Lt. Col. Milany Martinez, Calamba City police chief, identified the victim as Ronald Mantillan.
Investigation said Mantillan and his brother Robert, a welder, were resting when the suspect, Demetrio, confronted them, triggering a heated argument.
Demetrio left and returned and shot Ronald. The victim died and Demetrio fled.
Police arrived and arrested the suspect’s colleague, Al Jun, for letting him escape.
Robert was unscathed. Lawmen are hunting the suspects.
