'Salvage' victim found in Batangas

TANAUAN CITY, Batangas – The body of a suspected “salvage” or summary execution victim was discovered in Barangay Janopol Oriental here on Saturday, February 17.

A group of mango pickers found the body wrapped in a sack, naked, and his feet and hands tied at the back with a tie wire while walking near a sugar cane plantation.

Barangay officials informed lawmen about the gruesome discovery. 

Police have coordinated with neighboring barangays to identify the body.

Forensics probers were called in for technical assistance and gathering of surveillance came footages for backtracking.
