Malacañang launches 'Goldenberg: The Concert Series'

  • This is not the first time Malacañang hosted a concert on its premises under the present administration. It had previously held concerts dedicated to soldiers, athletes, and teachers. These performances were part of the "Konsyerto sa Palasyo" concert series that started in April 2023.

Filipinos can expect more music-filled nights in Malacañan as the Office of the President (OP) is set to launch the "Goldenberg: The Concert Series," which aims to promote Filipino heritage among the youth.

The Social Secretary's Office, which is under the OP, said in a Facebook post that the public is in for a "journey like no other" with the concert series.

"Join us as we bridge students to the heart of Filipino musicians, artists, culture, and the arts," it said.

"Let the melodies of our heritage inspire, uplift, and unite us all. Stay tuned for an unforgettable experience!" it added.

The Social Secretary's Office, however, did not mention when the concert series would commence or who could watch the performances live, but they would be held at the Goldenberg Mansion in Malacañan.

The Goldenberg Mansion is a fully refurbished home built in the 1800s by the Eugster family. It is the favored venue for this administration’s cultural and art events. This can be privately rented as well.

This is not the first time Malacañang hosted a concert on its premises under the present administration. It had previously held concerts dedicated to soldiers, athletes, and teachers. These performances were part of the "Konsyerto sa Palasyo" concert series that started in April 2023.

Meanwhile, the upcoming Goldenberg concert series is inspired by Stella Goldenberg Brimo, the daughter of French-Jewish businessman, Michael Goldenberg, owner of the historic Goldenberg Mansion in San Miguel, Manila.

She was a well-known soloist, concert pianist, and professor at the University of Sto. Tomas Conservatory of Music and St. Paul’s College.

She was a Manila Symphony Orchestra soloist and played the Emperor Concerto under its founder, Dr. Alexander Lippay, during wartime.

Brimo was the president of the Philippine Association of University of Women (PAUW) Santo Tomas University Chapter and an outstanding leader in the National Council of the PAUW.
